Welcome to Cala Sìth!
We are located in the beautiful village of Port Ellen on the south of the island, an ideal base from which you can discover all aspects of island life. If it's whisky, wildlife or walking, our small staff team will use their local knowledge to help you make the most of your time on Islay, ‘The Queen of the Hebrides’.
The guest house is ideally located close to Port Ellen ferry terminal with our own private, free car park. More energetic guests like to use our bike racks. If you aren't bringing your own car or bike to the island, we can help you hire transport while you are here. We can help you work out the bus timetable if you prefer using public transport or arrange taxis if you've been overserved on your visit to any of the eight distilleries or one brewery on the island.
We are happy to answer any questions on the best way to spend your day. We've found that over the years it's best to organise any distillery tours well in advance of your visit. We can do that for you too.
Free wifi is available at the guest house. We have a laundry service for our guests too; we ask you pay one pound each load which goes to our favourite charity SSPCA.
We cater for most diets. Veggies and vegans are well catered for, as are those with food allergies or intolerances. Just be sure to let us know in advance.
Do we take dogs? They are our favourite guests! All we ask is that they are house trained. Our treat tin is always full and we are happy to provide you with advice on where to take your dog for a fun and safe day out.
Islay has more than world class distilleries to discover. We recommend you check out www.islayinfo.com and www.islayblog.com
